GLENN Turner’s world record golf tour was helped back on course in record breaking time by staff at Bishops of Guildford.
Professional golfer Glenn, who is attempting to set the world record for playing the most 18 hole golf courses in 12 months, broke down in his customised motorhome on the M3 in last week’s snow.
After ringing round a number of garages in the area and being told he would be off the road for up to five days, he came across Bishops of Guildford who promised to have him back on the road within a day. Glenn said:
“I can’t thank Mike, Zoe and the rest of the staff at Bishops enough. They saved the world record golf tour.
“I was back on the road within 12 hours thanks to them and they even allowed me to stay in the showroom over night as the motorhome has been my home for the past 10 months. Because of Bishops, I only had to miss one course in my attempt to bring a new world record to Britain.”
The world record golf tour teed off on April 1 in Scotland. Glenn has since played at courses in England, Wales, Ireland and Spain. He is also attempting to raise £1 million for the 43 hospices which make up the Association of Children’s Hospices and the Rhys Daniels Trust.
Glenn has currently played 331 courses in 321 days and the world record golf tour will come to an end on March 31 at Nigel Mansell’s Woodbury Park Golf Course in Devon. Before that, Glenn is in Surrey until February 17.
