www.thisiscornwall.co.uk has been following Glenn’s progress in the county. They said:

A keen golfer has stopped off at Launceston Golf Club as part of his world record tour in which he aims to set a record for playing at the most 18-hole golf courses in 12 months. Glenn Turner, of Lancashire, began his tour on April 1 in Scotland and he has since played at courses across England, Ireland, Wales and Mallorca.

He played his 350th game in 338 days at the start of March and so far has driven 18,200 miles, worn out six pair of shoes and walked the equivalent of two marathons a week on the greens.

He has also lost more than two stone in weight. Glenn has been living in a customised van while he completes the record. His tour will end on March 31 at Nigel Mansell's Woodbury Park Golf Club in Devon, when he hopes to have achieved his target of 380 games in 12 months.

At the weekend he played at Bowood at Lanteglos, Launceston Golf Club and on Monday at Trethorne at Launceston.

He also hopes to be playing at Roserrow, Lanhydrock, Trethorne, Newquay, Perranporth, St Austell, Whitsand Bay and St Mellion.

Glenn said: "The tour has been incredibly tiring but will be worthwhile when I bring home a new world record to Britain and help to raise a large amount of money for the 43 hospices which make up the Association of Children's Hospices and the Rhys Daniel Trust."
